Steel Cased Driven piles are usually bottom driven with a drop hammer piling rig or a vibratory mole/Grundomat. The steel tube/casing is used to ensure that no spoil or groundwater is allowed into the pile casings/tube. As soon as the pile has reached the engineers' target or set, the pile is then reinforced with steel in accordance with the engineers' design and specifications.
